Undivided Attention

This idea came to me three years ago and sat with me until this year. The headlines are fabricated, printed and cut by hand, every one dated a year ahead. Attention pulled in every direction at once. They are meant to frighten you. That is the intention. Overdramatized on purpose, because that is how the world already feels.

The heart is larger than any story on the canvas and it is the only red in a field of black and white. However far your eye wanders, it comes back. That return is the whole piece. Undivided attention brought back to love, which is where the answer was the whole time.

Black and white brought together make red. Red is the heart, love, life. Put love between two people who have been taught to hate each other and the division has nowhere left to stand.
